Why I Could Never Be On Radio
I was driving to work and listening to these deejays take phone calls from people who were saying what they thought was the most annoying song ever. I agreed with a few of the selections, such as "Billy Don't Be A Hero" and "That's What Friends Are For." Then some woman gets on the line and says that the worst song ever is "Smells Like Teen Spirit." One of the deejays said "Really?" in a surprised yet mild tone of voice. I, on the other hand, without a second thought screamed, "Fuck you! That's a great song!" I would SO be a huge FCC fine just waiting to happen.

Oh, you! You'd be safe as can be -- they've got seven-second spontaneity delay on all broadcasts, to "protect" against that kind of thing.
So you'd have to extend your tirade to more than seven seconds even to be heard. I think Homeland Security has goons who come and take offending deejays away these days.

Do most stations even have DJs any more? Seems like a lot of them are run by computer. Or maybe the DJs just sound like robots. :-)

I could definitely rant 'n' rave for longer than seven seconds!
Lots of the stations have morning drive-time DJs and afternoon drive-time DJs. The rest of the time I think they're on autopilot.
